You put your finger on something that I've come around to noticing, and now see rather ubiquitously -- people deliberately "dimming their personality" and "hiding their brilliance" in order to fit in more easily. I can't help but feel that this is ultimately a dead-end road even though many seem to think it's the right path in the short term.
