When are you going to see yourself?
You deserve growth that exists outside of the confines of shame and scarcity mindset.
It took me years to accept that life is not meant to be an urgent, never-ending self-improvement project.
Life is meant to be lived, experienced, and enjoyed—and for a while, my obsession with achievement was taking all the fun out of things.
When I was younger, I was fueled by ambition. I had a big chip on my shoulder that pushed me to do more and do better for quite some time—but as life went on, I realized that self-acceptance was just as important as self-improvement.
I realized that by being so hard on myself, I was trying to “build a better version of myself” at my own expense. I was burnt out and beat up.
I started to recognize how harmful it is for so many of us to digest messages about hard work, hustle and sacrifice without any accompanying context about patience, sustainability or self-care.
I realized that we all deserve better. We deserve healthy growth—not motivated by guilt, but by the belief that we can be more of the incredible people that we already are.
Working towards a more aligned version of yourself is one of the most beautiful acts of self-love that you can choose—but self-compassion should be part of your journey. You can’t bully yourself into a happier life.
You deserve a form of self-love that is rooted in acceptance of who you are and excitement about who you can become.
You deserve growth that exists outside of the confines of shame and scarcity mindset. You deserve growth that pushes you towards freedom and away from endless comparisons—because if you spend your whole life competing with other people, when are you going to see yourself?
